Week 5.2

for homework i created three posters that might work well with the concept of the building urban areas over historic maori sites.

I chose to look at a cross section design to show the hidden history of what lies underneath a city for example the Te aro, and Pipetia Pā this was my final poster:

the feed back for this was that this was the strongest concept out of my two new posters. however to get it looking better i should look at doing it in a more painterly style and use example from a par site (such as Pipies from Pipetia beach buried below Pipetea.) I also should look at removing the perspective from the image to make it look more like a cross section.

another design style i chose to look at was isometric design:

for this poster i like the geometric shapes and how the design looks as a whole however I fear that it lacks emotion as yes there are layers and they are of different things however i don’t feel it is impactful as some of the simpler posters i designed.

the last design style i chose to look at was a more simplified and is looking at the concept of building over which was my original idea rather that the urbanisation theme that was suggested as another area to look into

This poster i feel has a lot more emotion and has a larger essence of ihi wehi due to the use of scale creating a powerful image. the feedback for this poster was to play around with the type as it is currently not working.
