Today in class we stared off with a lecture about graphic design as a voice for change. in this lecture we learnt about why and how art can play an important role in social change buy looking at examples form artists. i found this intresting as it is further developing my knowledge of posters and how to create an impoactful one.
in class we started of by looking at some images and identifying the rhetoric technique they used. i found this helpful as it reminded me that i should be looking at using some of these rhetorics in my work as i had kind of already forgotten about them. this technique was also helpful as it helped me solidify what each of the techniques were and how they can be applied to create an emotional response.
in class today we also looked at using proverbs to match imagery to deepen the meaning in our posters as proverbs are very well known sayings that can intensify your argument in the poster. I found this task really hard as some of my quotes where hard to match with my theme and i was struggling to think of imagery that worked well with the sayings in a short amount of time.
